Advice

Find the flaw in your business idea before the market finds it.

This Council isn't going to tell you your idea is good. Its job is to find where it might fail, from six angles: finance, operations, customer, sales, competition, and technology.

How it works

  1. You answer five questions, one by one: the idea, the company that executes it, the problem and for whom, the assumptions that would have to be true, and how much you are going to invest and in what time frame.
  2. The Council is convened. You choose which council member speaks first, and each one asks you a maximum of three questions from their area of expertise.
  3. When everyone has spoken, the Council closes with the question that no one asked.

To take advantage of it

  • Respond with concrete data: figures, client names, actual deadlines. "I don't know" is also acceptable, and it's useful information.
  • Keep at hand what you already know about your market and your costs.
  • Allow about 15 minutes.

What it doesn't do
It doesn't improve your idea, create a plan for you, or write your pitch. It shows you the questions the market will ask, so you can answer them beforehand.
